Lessons
Lessons are offered in English and Western, and are tailored to the rider's level. In addition to our adult clientele, we specialize in working with children. We pride ourselves in teaching the basics of proper horse care and riding techniques. Students groom and tack their horse prior to the lesson time, and take care of it following a one-hour lesson session.
Mission Bay has jumps, a 20x60-meter dressage arena, and trails to provide a variety of equestrian disciplines.
Our students occasionally go on lesson trail rides to compliment lunging
lessons and ring exercises. The goal is to provide a solid foundation for our
students so they gain the confidence and knowledge to own or lease a horse. We
strive to incorporate the "how's and why's" of horsemanship into our lessons.
Each rider is allowed to progress at his/her individual learning ability. Beginning riders are carefully instructed in the basics of flatwork prior to jumping and progress in a fun and comfortable manner. Opportunities are limitless for advanced riders with our dressage arena, jumping arena, and endless trails.
Boarders are invited to bring in their own trainer for lessons or training sessions on their horse. Advanced/Intermediate riders are given the opportunity to lease a horse for the fraction of the cost of owning one, and train with our staff members or a trainer from outside the facility (with a signed year's full lease).
Whether your goals are showing or trial riding, western or jumping, we have a lesson program for you. Young and old, horse lovers alike can appreciate our stress on safety and individual improvement. Our family atmosphere allows for a relaxed and pleasurable experience whether riding or watching a lesson.
